Elevator Pitches Strengthen Your Presence as a Blogger

The landscape of writers has been completely transformed by the emergence of a writing class known as the blogger. Many will argue that the weight of an article is less than that of a traditionally schooled writer, but those lines have long since blurred and been crossed. Today anyone has access to writing content and publishing it online for the world to read. Is all of it worthwhile? That's debatable, but suffice to say, the boundaries that once kept the word crafting to the professionals has been torn down and we are all now publishers in our own right.

Unlock Confusion with an Elevator Pitch

In our rush to become publishers have we taken the time to define what we're writing, for whom we are writing for and to what end? This is where the fundamental concept of the elevator pitch comes in. Much like it's traditional counterpart, the elevator pitch for a blogger is simply a concise explanation of your content, your purpose and your goals. In a matter of seconds you should be capable of sharing what is you do to someone who has never met you or come across your content.

I highly encourage bloggers to take the time to look at what they are doing. Whether you're new or a veteran blogger, if you've not had the time to craft an elevator pitch, do so. It will save time from having to repeat yourself or confuse your listener as you shoot in the dark for the "best ways" to explain your blog.

Why not share your pitch in the comments section with a link to your site. I'd like to see what you all have come up with.
