My wish for you is to move forward to make things happen and don't let anyone or anything steer you from the ultimate goal. Recently I was browsing the local metropolitan paper and while looking for inspiration and came across the same ideas that I had come across in a blog post by Chris Brogan.
The Inspiration
For many of us we grow up being told that talking about yourself and bragging is looked down upon and very likely the rudest thing you can do in a conversation with other people. But sometimes if you don't toot your own horn, who else will toot it for you. This is especially true if you are doing some great things that you think other people should know about. Now everyone should practice a decorum of modesty, but there are ways to positively share your accomplishments and your expertise with everyone.
So with that said I want you to share some of your personal achievements in the comments section while I share some of mine here with you:
- I have succeeded in becoming an international blogger for as many as six sites across the web.
- A podcast that I co-host with another local thought leader in new media has passed the one year mark.
- The same podcast, Tech in Twenty, has been noted in both Small Business Trends Magazine and Network Solutions as one of the top 50 podcasts to listen to in 2009.
- I've transitioned to making a vidcast regularly as a part of a brand extension experiment gone right.
- I successfully was able to begin work as a public speaker in a few conferences ending 2009.
So those are the things that I pat myself on the back for. With 2010 started, I'm looking at focusing one a few projects that will help to further propel my goals.
So think about what you've done, big or small, an accomplishment is an accomplishment and I'd love for you to share them in the comments section below to share with all of us.
