Life has always had a funny ways of working itself out. No matter where you live, at what station in life you're in, or what income level you reside in, opportunities come to us and leave us, it's all a matter of making a decision. Most recently I've been adjusting to some very major changes in my life, moving into a new home, adjusting my professional career, balancing the work/life situation (something I think we all try to do).
When was the last time you evaluated your goals? Where are you going, where have you been, and have you adjusted course accordingly?
I find it interesting that many close to me are at this point in their life as well. Perhaps it's an cyclical age thing that we hit every so many years, or perhaps it just ensuring that that we do not sacrifice what we want for the sake of an unsatisfying career choice. Whatever the case may be, whether you're doing it personally, or for your business, take the time to reevaluate the goals you're after.
I wouldn't suggest a bucket list, I think that list is for the dreams and wishes we hope to one day achieve (very broad), but rather a more focused and targeted goal list with definite timelines of when you wish to reach them. At one point I thought I was going to to animation school, when suddenly life through me into another form of media entertainment. At another point in my life I thought I would go for my MBA, but later realized that the fulfillment of that goal would not get me any closer to what I really wanted out of life, so I adjusted accordingly.
Make a list, share if you'd like in the comments below. I find accountability a great way to keep yourself motivated and going forward. If you've achieved a milestone recently in your goals, congrats, share with us that victory that made it all worthwhile.
